Arquimedes Gamboa - 1 for 5, R, 2 RBI, BB, K (throwing error)
Adam Haseley - 2 for 5, R, SB

Jose Gomez - 2 for 5, R, RBI, 2 K

A Gamboa throwing error jump started a four-run 4th inning for Dunedin, with all of those runs being unearned. However, Mills couldn’t get himself out of the inning either surrendering 4 hits and a wild pitch. Clearwater trailed 9-4 in the 8th inning before the Threshers put up 5 runs themselves to tie the game and force extras. Blake Quinn took the loss via the dumb (see: very dumb) extra inning rules. Adam Haseley stole his 3rd base of the season and has hit safely in his last 6 games. Over his last 10 games he is batting .349 with multi-hit games in 6 of them. In much less fun news, Jose Pujols somehow has 27 strikeouts in 58 at-bats.

Lakewood 4, Hagerstown 0

Dalton Guthrie - 0 for 4
Nick Maton - 2 for 3, 2 R, 2B
Jake Scheiner - 2 for 4, R, 2B, RBI
Quincy Nieporte - 1 for 4, R, RBI
Colby Fitch - 1 for 4, 2B
Rodolfo Duran - 1 for 3, 2 RBI, K
Kevin Markham - 0 for 4
Yahir Gurrola - 0 for 4, K
Josh Stephen - 0 for 3, K

This probably isn’t a bold statement, but Spencer Howard is too good for the South Atlantic League. Yeah, yeah it’s early and only 4 starts. He has a 1.89 ERA and 29 strikeouts to 2 walks in 19 innings. For those wondering who this young man is, he is our 21 year old RHP selected in the 2nd round of the 2017 draft. He’ll be in Clearwater by June given there is room or maybe he even forces the Phillies’ hand. Anyway, the BlueClaw offense is hardly exciting compared to their starting rotation. One name to keep an eye on is 21 year old shortstop Nick Maton (2017 7th rounder) who is slashing .297/.343/.516 with 2 HR and 1 SB in 64 at-bats.
