The Phillies close out their series today against the Braves, where they finally get to leave and play other teams in baseball. If it feels like they have only played the Braves this year, that’s because they have. They haven’t played anyone else. Look it up.
Here are the lineups for the Sunday matinee:
Vince Velasquez looks to bounce back from his last bad start, hopefully turning in a good performance to help quell any notion people might have of bumping him to the bullpen. That’s Scott Kingery you see starting today at shortstop, somewhere he’ll be frequenting after today’s news that J.P. Crawford is headed to the disabled list with a right forearm strain. Let’s just hold our breath and hope that this particular forearm strain doesn’t mean the same thing as it usually does for pitchers.
Game time is at 1:35 p.m., found in the usual places you would usually consume your Phillies baseball on a Sunday afternoon. Have fun discussing the game in the comments!
Topic of discussion
With Crawford sidelined and Kingery about to see regular action in one spot, who benefits most from an “unclogging” of the playing time jam?
