Christopher Shannon/MiLB.com

Today’s Probables:

LHV: Drew Anderson
REA: Franklyn Kilome
CLR: Adonis Medina
LWD: Kyle Young

Lehigh Valley 5, Charlotte 0

Cole Irvin - 8.2 IP, 4 H, 0 R, BB, 6 K, 9 GB, 4 FB
Dylan Cozens - 1 for 3, HR, BB, K

Cole Irvin was excellent last night, nearly putting together his first complete game of his career. He faced 28 batters in the game and threw 74 of his 117 pitches for strikes. Irvin improved to 6-1 with a 2.73 ERA. Yacksel Rios recorded the final out of the evening. Danny Ortiz hit a 2-run double in the 3rd inning to help spot Irvin a 3-0 lead. Dylan Cozens added a solo HR in the 8th inning, his 10th of the season.

Reading 3, Trenton 1

JoJo Romero - 8 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, 7 K, HR, 7 GB, 5 FB
Malquin Canelo - 1 for 4, R, 2B
Kyle Martin - 0 for 4
Damek Tomscha - 2 for 3, 2B, HR, 2 RBI, K
Zach Green - 0 for 4, 2 K
Cornelius Randolph - 0 for 3, 2 K
Deivi Grullon - 1 for 3, HR, K
Jiandido Tromp - 0 for 3, K
Cord Sandberg - 0 for 3, 2 K
Emmanuel Marrero - 0 for 3, 2 K

It might be safe to say that JoJo Romero has figured it out and put those early season struggles behind him. He went a career-high 8 innings last night and saw his ERA dip under 5.00 for the first time all season (10 starts). He received offensive support from Tomscha and Grullon who hit their 8th and 10th homeruns, respectively.

Fort Myers 6, Clearwater 3

Connor Seabold - 5.2 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 3 K, HR, 10 GB, 2 FB
Arquimedes Gamboa - 0 for 3, R, 2 BB, 2 K
Adam Haseley - 1 for 4, R
Austin Listi - 1 for 4, 2 RBI, BB
Darick Hall - 2 for 5, 2B, K
Mickey Moniak - 3 for 5, 2B, K, SB
Edgar Cabral - 1 for 4, BB, 2 K
Jose Pujols - 1 for 5, 2 K
Jose Gomez - 0 for 3
Luke Williams - 1 for 3, R, BB

Connor Seabold falls to 1-4 after picking up his first win of the season last week. More importantly, Mickey Moniak is still hitting that baseball! He is in the midst of a 6-game hitting streak and has back-to-back-to-back multi-hit games. His stolen base was his 4th of the season. Is he fixed? Probably not given the K/BB, but it’s something.

Lakewood 3, Greensboro 0

Will Stewart - 9 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 10 K, 10 GB, 1 FB
Jake Scheiner - 1 for 4, 2B, RBI, SB
Nick Maton - 2 for 4, K
Jhailyn Ortiz - 0 for 4, K
Colby Fitch - 1 for 3, 2B, BB
Quincy Nieporte - 1 for 4, R
Daniel Brito - 1 for 2, R, 2B, BB, K, SB
Gregori Rivero - 0 for 3, RBI
Josh Stephen - 1 for 3, RBI, K
Kevin Markham - 1 for 3, R

Will Stewart with the most dominating pitching performance in the Phillies organization this season! The 9 IP and 10 strikeouts were career-highs. He lowers his ERA to 1.23 with a 53:8 K/BB in 58.2 innings. The stuff isn’t amazing, but the results have been fantastic. Daniel Brito (7) and Jake Scheiner (5) both with stolen bases in the game.
