Well, gang; yesterday happened. We can all picture it clearly in our minds, we can all still taste the ashy flavor of agony in our mouths as the Nationals stole yet another victory right out of the Phillies’ mouths. It was a bottom of the ninth meltdown that made about as much sense as the idea that victories are for some reason kept in players’ mouths.
You might not see Hector Neris today. But you will see Zach Eflin making his second start after six innings against the Marlins, five of which were perfect. Will he be the one to stop this dreaded Giants surge, while his counterpart, Jeff Samardzija, looks to silence an already silenced Phillies lineup? Look, why would you even ask a question like that. Play ball!
