Lehigh Valley 3, Scranton/WB 2

Enyel De Los Santos - 6 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, 2 HR, WP, 4 GB, 7 FB

Joey Meneses - 1 for 3, R, 2B, RBI, BB
Trevor Plouffe - 2 for 4, R, 2B, HR, 2 RBI
Damek Tomscha - 0 for 3, BB, K

Trevor Plouffe’s 8th inning solo HR put the IronPigs ahead for Tom Windle to come in and get his 3rd save of the season. Plouffe’s homer was his 8th of the season. Enyel De Los Santos, with just his 4th start of the season giving up more than 1 earned run, gets the no-decision last night. His ERA rose to 1.73 in 83.1 IP.

Reading 1, Erie 0

Harold Arauz - 6.1 IP, 7 H, 0 R, 3 BB, 4 K, 10 GB, 2 FB

Darick Hall - 0 for 1, 2 BB, K
Zach Green - 0 for 3, K
Deivi Grullon - 2 for 3
Malquin Canelo - 0 for 3, K

Despite the amount of base-runners allowed, Harold Arauz escapes with his 5th victory of the season. The pitching last night was aided by 4 double-plays. The lone run in the game came from an Austin Listi sac-fly in the 3rd inning to score Jiandido Tromp.

West Virginia 4, Lakewood 1 (GM1 of DH, 7 innings)
Lakewood 1, West Virginia 0 (GM2 of DH, 7 innings, makeup of 6/24 ppd)

David Parkinson - 5 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 K, 3 GB, 3 FB

David Parkinson lowers his ERA to 1.13 and STILL gets the no-decision. Andrew Brown came on in relief and gave up 3 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning. Jhailyn Ortiz is struggling as of late, going 3 for 30 in his last 8 games. Kevin Markham left the Game 1 in the bottom of the 2nd inning. He was replaced by Jesus Alastre. In 10 of his 12 starts this season, Ramon Rosso has given up 1 run or less. He is 5-1 on the season with a 1.33 ERA.

Mahoning Valley 6, Williamsport 2

Juan Escorcia - 1.2 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, 3 GB, 1 FB

Jonathan Guzman - 3 for 4, 2 R, 2B, HR
Lenin Rodriguez - 2 for 3, RBI, BB, K, SB
Stoney O’Brien - 0 for 4

After pitching a 5-inning one-hitter with 7 strikeouts last week, Juan Escorcia was promptly lit up last night. Of course, the defense behind him didn’t do him any favors. The offense also wasn’t entirely opportunistic despite the 9 hits and 3 walks issued. Jonathan Guzman hit his 1st HR of the season last night. Matt Vierling has hit safely in all 8 games to start his professional career and is slashing .471/.500/.588 in 34 at-bats. Alec Bohm similarly has failed to not to tally a hit either. He is 7 for 19 between GCL and Williamsport.
