Today’s Probables:
LHV: Tom Eshelman
REA: Franklyn Kilome
CLR: Bailey Falter
LWD: Kyle Young
WIL: Jhordany Mezquita
Lehigh Valley 4, Scranton/WB 2
Drew Anderson - 7 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 4 K, 2 HR, 6 GB, 5 FB
Dean Anna - 3 for 4, R, SB
Collin Cowgill - 2 for 4, R
Mitch Walding - 0 for 2, R, 2 BB, K
Joey Meneses - 1 for 4, 2 RBI, K
Damek Tomscha - 0 for 3
Another big win for Lehigh Valley as their division lead sits at a comfortable 6 games. Drew Anderson gets his 5th win of the season and lowers his ERA to 3.35. He out-dueled former Nationals prospect A.J. Cole. With Anderson already being on the 40-man roster, pitching very well and Ben Lively hurt...you wonder if Anderson might have the upper-hand on Enyel De Los Santos for a potential call-up if the opportunity were to arise.
Erie 8, Reading 5
Connor Seabold - 3 IP, 8 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, HR, WP, 4 GB, 0 FB
Malquin Canelo - 2 for 5, R
Austin Listi - 2 for 3, HR, 4 RBI, BB, K
Darick Hall - 0 for 4, K
Jan Hernandez - 1 for 4, R, 2B, 2 K
Deivi Grullon - 1 for 4
Jiandido Tromp - 1 for 4, 2B, K
Cord Sandberg - 2 for 4, R, RBI
Connor Seabold makes his AA debut after a curious promotion. He wasn’t exactly dominating High-A ball and Bailey Falter has arguably been better. Seabold was more Seabad last night, even after Austin Listi spotted him with a 3-run HR in the 1st inning (Listi’s 2nd HR with Reading). Zach Green was not in the lineup last night after getting hit by a pitch in Tuesday’s game. Elniery Garcia pitched in relief last night, likely signaling the end of his time in a starting rotation (he gave up 2 runs on 5 hits and a walk in 1.2 IP).
Clearwater 5, Daytona 4
Anthony Requena - 6 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 7 K, 4 GB, 4 FB
Arquimedes Gamboa - 0 for 3, R, RBI, BB, 3 K
Adam Haseley - 2 for 4, BB, K
Edgar Cabral - 0 for 5
Jose Pujols - 2 for 4, BB
Mickey Moniak - 2 for 5, RBI, 2 K
Kyle Martin - 1 for 4, R, BB
Luke Williams - 2 for 3, 2 R, 2B, BB
Grenny Cumana - 1 for 4, HR, 3 RBI, K
Raul Rivas - 2 for 4, K
Perhaps the forgotten piece of the Pat Neshek trade from last season, Anthony Requena is back from injury and looks to be good as new! He had last pitched with Clearwater on April 14th. Requena left the game with a 1-1 tie, but Blake Quinn would let Daytona rattle off 3 runs in the bottom of the 7th. Somehow Grenny Cumana would get the chance to tie the game via a 3-run HR, his 2nd of the season. It still amazes me that someone as tiny as Cumana can hit a ball over an outfield fence. Mickey Moniak once again got to play the spoiler and delivered a RBI-single in the top of the 9th to give the Threshers the lead. Clearwater is now 6-0 in the second half after finishing 32-36 in the first half.
Lakewood 4, Hagerstown 3
Will Stewart - 5 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, 7 GB, 3 FB
Nick Maton - 0 for 3, BB
Jhailyn Ortiz - 0 for 4, CS
Jake Scheiner - 0 for 2, R, BB, 2 K, CS, HBP
Colby Fitch - 0 for 3, R, BB
Rodolfo Duran - 2 for 3, 2 R, HR, BB, K (passed ball)
Daniel Brito - 1 for 3, 2 RBI, BB (throwing error)
Quincy Nieporte - 1 for 3, 2B, RBI, BB
Josh Stephen - 1 for 4, 2 K
Jose Antequera - 0 for 3, K
Despite giving up just 1 run in 5 innings, Will Stewart’s ERA actually went UP after last night’s performance. It now sits at 1.17; a tragedy I know. Rodolfo Duran hit a solo HR in the 3rd inning, his 9th homer of the season. In a 3-3 tie game in the bottom of the 8th, Quincy Nieporte hit a RBI double to score Rodolfo Duran and take the lead. Julian Garcia closed out the 9th for his first save of his career.

Matt Kroon - 3 for 4, BB, 2 SB, CS
Greg Pickett - 0 for 5, RBI, 2 K (fielding error)
Trent Bowles - 0 for 4, R, RBI, K
D.J. Stewart - 2 for 5, 2 R
