Reading wins a wild one behind 13 hits in which the offense went 6 for 15 with RISP. JoJo Romero was less impressive after putting together 3 straight quality starts coming into this game. His ERA rose back up to 5.11. The Fightins held a 5-4 lead in the top of the 9th before Edgar Garcia gave up the tying run to force extra innings. Austin Bossart was the hero in the 10th, delivering a 1-out RBI single to score Jiandido Tromp.
Daytona 5, Clearwater 3
Bailey Falter - 5.1 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 4 BB, 5 K, 5 GB, 3 FB
Arquimedes Gamboa - 3 for 3, R, 2 BB, 2 SB, CS
Henri Lartigue - 0 for 5, 4 K

Raul Rivas - 2 for 5, R, 3B
Jose Pujols - 3 for 5, R, 2B, RBI, K
Jose Gomez - 2 for 5, RBI, K
Luke Williams - 1 for 4
Bailey Falter picks up his 2nd straight loss in another really poor start. His four walks issued in a game were his most since his Williamsport debut in 2016. To make matters even worse, the offense spotted him a 3-0 lead before giving up his 4 runs. Sadly, Mickey Moniak’s 11-game hitting streak came to a halt. Over the hitting streak, he raised his average from .217 to .245. Arquimedes Gamboa raised his season line to .277/.355/.351 with 5 stolen bases. The 20 year old slick fielding shortstop is doing well for himself in high-A ball and his .707 OPS is the highest of his career.
