Game Thread 8/11: Phillies at Padres

Aaron Nola is throwing a 2.88 ERA since the all-star break, showing that the decision was no fluke. Of course, his only start at Petco Park wasn’t some of his best work, in which he threw six innings, giving up six hits, three earned runs, and a pair of walks. But that doesn’t really matter anymore; this is legitimate ace Aaron Nola we’re talking about. In the other dugout is Padres starter Walker Lockett, someone who had a season-high of five innings pitched in his last start against the Cubs, in which he gave up five runs in the second inning.
