Game Thread 8/23: Phillies at Nationals

Happy Nola Day!

After a disappointing series vs. the floundering Mets, the Phillies have lost the first two in Washington to fall three games behind the Braves.

They really need a win as they try to avoid a sweep, but are facing Max Scherzer, arguably the NL’s best pitcher so far this season.

At least on the hill for the Phils is Nola, who is also in Cy Young contention.
