Indianapolis 4, Lehigh Valley 3

Drew Anderson - 6 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, BB, 4 K, HR, 4 GB, 7 FB
Jesmuel Valentin - 0 for 5, K
Mitch Walding - 2 for 4, R, BB, K
Joey Meneses - 2 for 4, RBI, BB, K
Aaron Altherr - 0 for 4, 2 K

The IronPigs made things interesting, tying the game at 3 in the top of the 8th via a Danny Ortiz RBI double. Ortiz also had a solo HR earlier in the game, his 10th of the season. However, collectively the offense went 1 for 10 with RISP and left 10 on base. Pedro Beato came out for the bottom of the 9th and gave up a 1-out RBI single for the walk-off loss. Drew Anderson has pitched very well as late, in his last 6 starts he has gone: 31 IP, 25 H, 12 ER, 10 BB, 24 K. While his chance at a spot in the Phillies starting rotation is practically non-existent, he could prove to be a future asset out of the bullpen.

Reading 6, Akron 1

Connor Seabold - 7 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 8 K, 8 GB, 2 FB
Adam Haseley - 1 for 5, R, 2 K
Cornelius Randolph - 1 for 5, RBI, 2 K
Darick Hall - 1 for 4, HR, 2 RBI
Jose Pujols - 0 for 2, R, 2 BB, 2 K
Jan Hernandez - 1 for 4, R, K
Deivi Grullon - 0 for 3, BB, 2 K
Malquin Canelo - 0 for 4, R, RBI

Connor Seabold gets his first AA win and things are starting to get interesting for the 22 year old righty. After a rocky first 5 starts with Reading (8/74 ERA), he now has 3 consecutive starts in which he has compiled: 18 IP, 10 H, 3 ER, 5 BB, 20 K. Let’s hope we see more of the latter version. Darick Hall gave the Fightin’s all the runs they wound up needing with a 2-run HR in the 4th inning. This was Hall’s 12th homer with Reading and 23rd overall on the season.

Clearwater 9, Tampa 4

Ramon Rosso - 5.1 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 7 K, HBP, 3 GB, 1 FB
Grenny Cumana - 1 for 6, R, 2 RBI
Mickey Moniak - 1 for 5, R, 2B, 2 RBI, BB
J.P. Crawford - 0 for 4, BB, 2 K
Henri Lartigue - 0 for 4, 2 R, BB, K
Luke Williams - 1 for 5, RBI, K
Edgar Cabral - 2 for 3, R, 2 BB
Raul Rivas - 1 for 5, 2 R, RBI, SB
Jose Gomez - 1 for 3, R, 2B, 2 BB, SB
Kevin Markham - 2 for 4, R, RBI, BB, K

Ramon Rosso was dealing, throwing a 1-hitter before entering the 6th inning. There he ran into trouble and didn’t receive any luck from his relievers as they allowed 2 of his inherited runners to score. Rosso did receive his 4th win with Clearwater because the Threshers notched 5 runs in the top of the 5th. Last night Moniak hit his 23rd double, which is shockingly only 4 off of the Phillies organizational lead.

Charleston 7, Lakewood 2

Damon Jones - 5 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 4 ER, 3 BB, 4 K, HR, WP, HBP, 2 GB, 5 FB (pickoff error)
Dalton Guthrie - 3 for 4, 2 R, K
Matt Vierling - 1 for 4
Jake Scheiner - 1 for 4, K, SB
Rodolfo Duran - 3 for 3, RBI, CS (passed ball)
Jhailyn Ortiz - 1 for 4, RBI, K
Colby Fitch - 0 for 3, BB, 2 K
Madison Stokes - 2 for 4, K
Josh Stephen - 0 for 4, K (fielding error)
Jose Antequera - 0 for 4, K (fielding error)

To say Damon Jones has been struggling of late might be an understatement. He has given up 21 earned runs in his last 17 innings and it was also his 3rd loss in his last 4 starts. Jhailyn Ortiz’s single last night was his first hit since 7/29. Ortiz was previously 0 for his last 32.

Mahoning Valley 2, Williamsport 2

Manuel Silva - 4.1 IP, 5 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 6 K, 4 GB, 2 FB
Ben Aklinski - 0 for 4, 2 K
Rafael Marchan - 1 for 4
Ben Pelletier - 1 for 4, 2B, K
Edwin Rodriguez - 0 for 4, K (two fielding errors)
Jake Holmes - 0 for 3, K
Jesus Henriquez - 1 for 2, BB, CS
Seth Lancaster - 0 for 3, 3 K
Lenin Rodriguez - 0 for 2, K
Keudy Bocio - 1 for 3, K

Manuel Silva was looking excellent upon entering the 5th inning, but then gave up the only 2 runs of the game. The offense was life-less, combining for 4 hits, striking out 10 times and going 0 for 3 with RISP. Rafael Marchan has failed to reach base twice all season. He has played in 39 games.
