Josh Stephen - 1 for 3, BB, K
Lucas Williams - 1 for 1, RBID
A rather uneven start for Adonis Medina. He gave up a season-low three hits, but walked a season-high four batters. His lone mistake pitch that hurt him was a solo HR to Jacob Heyward (the brother of MLBer Jason Heyward). In his relief, the bullpen combined for four shutout innings of one hit ball with eight strikeouts. Kyle Dohy got his second save of the season and has 22 strikeouts in 11 innings. Darick Hall hit his 2nd HR of the season and Luke Williams provided the eventual game-winning pinch hit RBI-single in the 8th to give Reading the 2-1 lead.

Tough luck for Julian Garcia who fell to 1-2 on the season despite a respectable 3.07 ERA in 14.2 innings (and also boasts 19 strikeouts to 5 walks). In relief Gustavo Armas gave up two runs in the 6th, while a rehabbing Seth McGarry allowed three in the 8th. The Threshers didn’t have many baserunners and were 0 for 3 with RISP.

Carlos De La Cruz - 1 for 5, RBI, 2 K
Jonathan Guzman - 1 for 4, R, 2B, RBI, K
Dominic Pipkin wasn’t very good, but he didn’t have to be! Alec Bohm broke the 2-2 in the 7th inning with a 2-run HR (his second of the season). He is now slashing .367/.444/.567 in 60 at-bats after the three-hit game. Please give us more of that Alec. The BlueClaws broke things open even more in the 8th inning with a five run explosion. It included Malvin Matos’ first dinger of the year. Luis Garcia followed up his dreadful five-strikeout game with a two-hit night to get above the Mendoza Line for the season.
