I miss the real Aaron Nola. I do. I know he’s in there somewhere, but I miss having a reliable guy in the rotation, and I miss that guy being specifically Nola; a young arm on the rise, having established himself as a verifiable threat to the NL East. The top of the Phillies pitching staff, a product of their farm system, and whose presence makes Jake Arrieta’s mediocrity look better just by being next to him.
Here’s hoping he shows up tonight against the Braves and Sean Newcomb, who hasn’t made a start since coming back from the minors and being moved to the bullpen in early May.
