EDLS bounces back from a disastrous start last week in which he gave up 5 earned runs on 10 hits in 4 innings. The offense plated 3 runs in the 2nd inning which would prove to be the difference. Logan Morrison got his first official start with the Iron Pigs, delivering a 2-run blast. It was obviously his first with the Iron Pigs, but 16th overall this season. Phil Gosselin added an insurance solo homer in the 8th inning, his 4th. For those of you not following along at home, Austin Listi has a 14-game hitting streak.
Reading 4, Binghamton 0 (game was suspended in the bottom of the 4th, will be completed today)
Bradenton 8, Clearwater 0
Julian Garcia - 6 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 2 ER, BB, 3 K, 2 HR, 2 WP, 8 GB, 5 FB (pickoff error)
Simon Muzziotti - 1 for 4
Jhailyn Ortiz - 0 for 4
Nick Maton - 1 for 4
Matt Vierling - 1 for 4, 2B
Rodolfo Duran - 0 for 4 (passed ball)
Daniel Brito - 1 for 3, K
Tough luck for Julian Garcia and the offense as they get 5-hit, but somehow only struck out twice in the entire game collectively. Despite taking the loss, Garcia maintains a 2.87 ERA with 89 strikeouts to 26 walks in 91 IP. The 24 year old is clearly ready for the next step in AA.
Lakewood 7, Delmarva 4
James McArthur - 5 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, 2 K, HR, 8 GB, 2 FB
Kevin Gowdy - 1 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, K, 1 GB, 2 FB
Jonathan Guzman - 1 for 4, R, CS
Rafael Marchan - 0 for 3, 2 RBI, BB, K
Luis Garcia - 0 for 4, RBI, BB

Seth Lancaster - 1 for 3, R, 2B, BB, 2 K
Malvin Matos - 1 for 2, R, 2B, BB, K
Ben Pelletier - 1 for 3, R, RBI, K, HBP
It has been a mostly bad season for James McArthur, but he was pretty good last night! He didn’t get the win thanks to a Kevin Gowdy implosion in the 7th inning. Miguel Gomez held things down and the BlueClaws scored 3 in the top of the 9th to regain the lead. Luis Garcia’s struggles continue at the plate as he is 0 for 17 in his last 4 games. Carlos De La Cruz has been a ton of fun lately. He has homered in 2 consecutive games and has 3 in his last 5.
