Look, we all want the Phillies to make a move. The problem is, the move we want them to make might not exist. Or, it could be a move that no one thinks will matter—or it could be a move that no one else has thought of yet.
The point is, this team could stand to get a bit better, and this is the time of year teams typically do that. That being said, we all know the Phillies said they probably won’t make a big one. But, it seems hasn’t changed the minds of the fans, according to SBN’s weekly FanPulse poll.

The desire to see a move made is being reflected in our normal weekly questions as well: Among poll takers, only 25% felt confident in the Phillies’ current direction. Their 5-5 record in the second half thus far, despite four one-run wins that saw them steal back a couple of losses, is indicative of all the same problems still existing, so it’s fair for people to not feel like this team is about to roar to life.
That being said, confidence in Gabe Kapler among those polled remained at high at 65%, down from 69% last week. Whatever the Phillies are doing wrong, the majority of people polled don’t believe it’s Kapler’s fault.
