Phillies MLR: Darick Hall powers Reading with his 18th homerun

Phillies Minor League Roundup for 7/24/19

MLB: Philadelphia Phillies at Detroit Tigers Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

Toledo 13, Lehigh Valley 0

Seth McGarry - 3 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 3 GB, 1 FB
Austin Listi - 0 for 4, 3 K
Deivy Grullon - 1 for 4, 2 K
Jan Hernandez - 1 for 4, 2 K
Malquin Canelo - 1 for 3, 2B, K

Holy Toledo! Bad one all around for the Iron Pigs. Apparently Seth McGarry (hello, Benoit trade) is this sorta starter now? Tom Windle gave up 3 runs and Yacksel Rios notched 6 himself. The LHV offense went 0 for 7 with RISP.

Reading 8, Binghamton 6

Jose Tavares - 5 IP, 7 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 4 K, 2 HR, WP, 3 GB, 6 FB
Mickey Moniak - 0 for 4, R, BB, K, SB
Darick Hall - 2 for 3, 3 R, HR, 3 RBI, 2 BB, K
Cornelius Randolph - 1 for 3, R, 2B, 2 BB, K
Josh Stephen - 2 for 5, R, RBI, K
Arquimedes Gamboa - 1 for 4, RBI

After a month-long and not very successful AAA stint (16 earned runs in 17.2 innings), Jose Tavares is back in AA. He earned his 3rd win there and lowered his ERA to 3.09. He was aided by Darick Hall’s 18th dinger of the season, a two-run shot in the 4th inning. Someone will need to explain to me what has gotten into Cornelius Randolph lately. He is slashing .300/.394/.400 in his last 20 games (60 AB).

Bradenton 2, Clearwater 1

Kyle Glogoski - 5 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 5 K, 4 GB, 5 FB
Simon Muzziotti - 1 for 4, 2B, BB (throwing error)
Jhailyn Ortiz - 2 for 5, K
Nick Maton - 1 for 3, 2B, BB
Rodolfo Duran - 2 for 4, HR

The 20 year old New Zealander continues to impress. Glogoski across two levels this season: 57.1 IP, 31 H, 11 ER, 22 BB, 73 K. Unfortunately the Thresher offense was shutdown, with the only run coming from Rodolfo Duran’s 6th HR of the season (and he’s hitting .306 over his last 10 games).

Lakewood 4, Charleston 3 (10 innings)

Dominic Pipkin - 5 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 3 K, HBP, 5 GB, 3 FB (pickoff error)
Jhordany Mezquita - 4 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 0 ER, BB, 6 K, 3 GB, 1 FB (throwing error)
Jonathan Guzman - 2 for 5, R, K, SB
McCarthy Tatum - 0 for 2, 3 BB, K
Luis Garcia - 0 for 5
Carlos De La Cruz - 1 for 5, K
Abraham Gutierrez - 0 for 4, BB
Cole Stobbe - 1 for 4, R, 2B, BB, 2 K
Seth Lancaster - 3 for 5, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI, K, 2 SB
Malvin Matos - 2 for 5, RBI
Ben Pelletier - 1 for 4, K

Exciting game that saw Seth Lancaster deliver a two-run HR in the 8th inning to tie the game. It was his 2nd homer of the season. He also scored the winning run in the bottom of the 10th via a Malvin Matos walk-off single. Jonathan Guzman added his org-leading 26th stolen base. Dominic Pipkin threw a season-high 80 pitches in the game.

Auburn 3, Williamsport 1 (GM1 of DH, 7 innings)
Williamsport 7, Auburn 1 (GM2 of DH, 7 innings, makeup of 7/23 ppd)

Jose Conopoima - 4 IP, 5 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, HR, WP, HBP, 6 GB, 2 FB
Brian Marconi - 3 IP, 4 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 K, 3 GB, 2 FB
Hsin-Chieh Lin - 4 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, 3 K, HR, WP, 2 GB, 4 FB
Rafael Carvajal - 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, BB, 4 K, 4 GB, 1 FB
Corbin Williams - 1 for 4, 2 BB, K, SB (outfield assist, 3B)
Jake Holmes - 1 for 6, RBI, 2 K, HBP
Bryson Stott - 0 for 7, 2 R, RBI, K
Johan Rojas - 2 for 6, R, 3B, 2 RBI, BB, K (outfield assist, home)
Kendall Simmons - 0 for 3, K
Herbert Iser - 0 for 3, 2 K (throwing error)
DJ Stewart - 2 for 4, K
