Pawtucket 7, Lehigh Valley 3
Damon Jones - 5 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, HR, 2 HBP, 6 GB, 5 FB
Deivy Grullon - 1 for 4, RBI, K
Austin Listi - 0 for 4
Malquin Canelo - 0 for 3, 2 K
This was a much better start for Damon Jones who had struggled in his previous two starts in AAA (12 ER in 4.2 IP). Connor Brogdon took the loss after giving up 2 runs in the top of the 7th in a 3-3 game. Rob Brantley hit his 5th HR of the season, otherwise the offense just had 5 hits and were 1 for 3 with RISP.
Bowie 6, Reading 5
Jose Tavares - 5.2 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, K, 6 GB, 6 FB
Mickey Moniak - 2 for 5, R, 2 K, SB
Alec Bohm - 1 for 4, HR, BB
Darick Hall - 2 for 2, 2B, RBI, 3 BB
Josh Stephen - 1 for 3, RBI, BB, 2 K
Arquimedes Gamboa - 1 for 3, K, CS
Jose Tavares takes his 1st AA loss of the season as he and Aaron Brown combined to give up 4 runs in the bottom of the 6th in a 3-2 game. Reading would score runs in the 7th and 8th, but it wasn’t enough. Alec Bohm broke out of his slump with his 8th AA HR. It was his first homer since July 20th. Josh Stephen has been a machine in his last 16 games, slashing .380/.448/.720 with 3 HR.
Florida 2, Clearwater 0
Jerad Eickhoff - 2 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 K, 1 GB, 2 FB
Jack Perkins - 4 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 4 K, 6 GB, 0 FB
Rafael Marchan - 0 for 4, K
Jhailyn Ortiz - 0 for 4, 4 K
Nick Maton - 0 for 2, 2 BB
Madison Stokes - 1 for 4, K, CS
Daniel Brito - 0 for 3
Simon Muzziotti - 1 for 3, SB
Matt Vierling - 0 for 3, 2 K
Jerad Eickhoff makes his first rehab appearance on his comeback from a right biceps injury. He could be another interesting arm they can use in the bullpen. The offense didn’t have it going and had only 3 hits and 2 walks combined (and struck out 9 times collectively). Rafael Marchan got promoted to Clearwater (Juan Aparicio got bumped to Lakewood), but was hitless in his debut (he slashed .271/.347/.339 in High-A this season).
Connecticut 3, Williamsport 2
Hsin-Chieh Lin - 3.2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 3 K, HR, 2 WP, 2 GB, 1 FB
Jose Conopoima - 3.1 IP, 4 H, 0 R, K, 2 GB, 4 FB
Corbin Williams - 0 for 4, R, K
Kendall Simmons - 2 for 3, BB, K, SB
Herbert Iser - 0 for 3, RBI, K
Logan O’HopLpe - 0 for 4, K
Johan Rojas - 0 for 4, K
DJ Stewart - 0 for 3, R, BB, K
Rudy Rott - 1 for 4, K
Nate Fassnacht - 2 for 4, RBI, 2 K
Nicolas Torres - 1 for 3, 2B (throwing error)
Hsin-Chieh Lin has had an interesting 2019 so far. The 20 year old Taiwanese import has 19 strikeouts to 10 walks in 18.2 innings this season. The Crosscutters had a 2-1 advantage entering the bottom of the 8th, but alas Brian Marconi gave up 2 runs to relinquish the lead. Logan O’Hoppe saw his 10-game hitting streak come to an end. Even with the 0fer last night, he is batting .436 in his last 10 games with 2 HR.
