Somehow Cole Irvin pitches his best game of the season and also takes his first AAA loss. He also provided 1 of LHV’s 4 hits on the night. Maikel Franco returned from the IL.

Reading 8, Portland 7 (10 innings)

Julian Garcia - 5 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 4 ER, BB, 6 K, 2 GB, 4 FB

Darick Hall - 0 for 4, BB, 2 K
Josh Stephen - 3 for 5, 2 RBI
Nick Maton - 2 for 5, R, CS
Cornelius Randolph - 0 for 5

Make that 3 straight dreadful starts for Julian Garcia who has given up 14 earned runs in his last 13.1 innings. Mickey Moniak hit his 13th triple of the season, of which helped score 2 runs in the top of the 6th inning. Alec Bohm blasted his 13th homer in the 5th. Across three levels Bohm is slashing .308/.381/.529 with 20 HR and 52 walks to just 66 strikeouts. Jonathan Hennigan and Addison Russ combined to give up 3 runs in the 8th and 9th innings to tie the game. Josh Stephen singled in the eventual scoring run in the top of the 10th.

Williamsport 8, West Virginia 7 (10 innings)

Adam Leverett - 4 IP, 3 H, 0 R, BB, 3 K, 6 GB, 2 FB (fielding error)
Nate Fassnacht - 1 for 6, R, K

Herbert Iser - 0 for 5, 2 K
Mitchell Edwards - 1 for 4, R, BB, 2 K
Corbin Williams - 2 for 4, 3 R, 2 K, HBP, 2 SB

Williamsport actually held a 7-0 lead heading into the bottom of the 6th inning, but then saw Chris Micheles, Rafi Gonell and Brian Marconi give up 7 runs to tie the game and force extras. Bryson Stott delivered the heroics in the 10th, a 2-out double to score Corbin Williams. Hunter Hearn hit his 4th HR of the season, a two-run blast in the 1st inning. Corbin Williams stole bases 27 and 28 in the game (in 34 total attempts). That total leads the entire NY-Penn League and only 2 behind Jonathan Guzman for the organizational lead.
