In one of our biggest celebrations of the Philadelphia Phillies, every week the members of The Good Phight will be issuing one of baseball’s greatest achievements to date: The Good Phil of the Week Award. One MLB player and one MiLB player will receive the award each week and will be able to boast to their teammates that they are, in fact, a Good Phil.
Major League Good Phil of the Week: J.T. Realmuto
Good Phillies are few and far between these days, but we manage to find them every week here with The Good Phil. But Realmuto, who is a stud, went above and beyond, being noted as probably the bets defensive player in baseball this week. With Bryce Harper away on new dad duties, Realmuto had to eat a little more meat in the middle of the lineup.
Anyway, if you look beyond the Cesar benching/not-benching and the Sean Rodriguez philosophy lecture, you'll see the only Phillies clip all season that really matters (via @paul_boye) pic.twitter.com/K633SJffgj

Sure, he only hit .238 with a .718 OPS in the past seven days, but he has been icing base runners nonstop, which has helped eliminated defensive miscues on occasion, as well as kept opposing runners out of scoring position. When every game is lose-able for a variety of reasons, it’s great to have one thing you can rely on: J.T. having an absolute cannon.
And it was a close week this week too, with the Harper baby entering the picture. Krew Harper received a few votes from the staff as a welcome of sorts. “He probably had the best week of anybody associated with the team,” Ethan Witte said. “That baby is going to be a teenager by the time his dad’s contract is up,” Justin Klugh wrote in yet another acknowledgement of his fear of time’s relentless march.
What TGP Says:
Ethan Witte: He’s just awesome.
Justin Klugh: [Everything above]
Allie Foster: He should be the front runner for the platinum glove award this season.
Others receiving votes:
Krew Harper, Aaron Nola, Rhys Hoskins, Scott Kingery, Cesar Hernandez, Bryce Harper, Scott Kingery, Zach Eflin,
Minor League Good Phil of the Week: Spencer Howard
What TGP Says:
Allie Foster: Another great outing this week: 6.0 IP, 2 H, 0 ER, 7 K
Others receiving votes: Connor Seabold
