The Phillies have a one-game lead in the NL Wild Card race over the Cardinals. And the Brewers. And the Mets, now, apparently. Attempting to keep that lead intact is Jason Vargas, who in his first Phillies appearance threw six innings of what turned out to be a 15-inning loss. Wait, that was that game? I completely forgot that was also Vargas’ debut. What a memory! I hate it.
