The Phillies lost in a big and resounding way last night; exactly the kind of way teams destined for the playoffs do not look by mid-September. At this point, it’s fair to wonder: How on earth would this team ever beat the Braves? Well, maybe they won’t! If last night was any indication, with their best pitcher on the mound, the Phillies probably won’t tonight. Which is to say, they probably will, because this team makes no sense. Jason Vargas and Max Fried on the mound tonight. This game will certainly have an outcome!
