Thanks to a heroic defensive play by Cody Bellinger, the Dodgers took a 2-0 series lead over the Padres in their NLDS series. It’s just another example of how much a strong defense can help a team win close games. As bad as the Phillies’ relievers were, they weren’t often helped by the defense behind them. It felt like every time the bullpen melted down, there was either an error or a play that didn’t get made.
