We knew it was going to be quick, but it’s still hard to believe: the playoffs start two weeks from tonight.
After a depressing, injury riddled series in Miami, where they lost 5 out of 7 (MLB’s first regular season 7-game series in 53 years), the Phillies are hanging on to a 1 1⁄2 game lead for the final playoff spot.
They begin this final push to the postseason by hosting the Mets for a three-game series, starting with Jake Arrieta facing fellow righty Rick Porcello.
For the Phillies, Rhys Hoskins is now on the IL, and so rookie Alec Bohm moves across the diamond to first base, with Jean Segura taking over third and Scott Kingery at second.
