Gamethread 9/17: Mets at Phillies

A big game for the team and a big debut for one of the kids

Tonight is the rubber match between the Mets and Phillies in what is a pivotal game for both. They are each, in their own way, still in the playoff chase, so banking a win is something that is vital to each to continue that pursuit.

For the Phillies, tonight is the debut of their former #1 pick Mickey Moniak. Fairly or unfairly, Moniak has taken criticism for not living up to the potential many observers associate with the top overall pick, but being able to reach the major leagues is a high point for any young ball player’s career, so he should be commended for doing so. Let’s hope he gets a hit tonight. Here are your lineups.
