Tonight is the beginning of the end.
It marks the final series of the season and what could be the beginning of the end of the current front office administration. That is, of course, pure speculation, but it is not unfounded. Should the Phillies fold and miss out on the playoffs, the hot seats will get very warm.
This also could be the final appearance by Vince Velasquez. As an arbitration eligible player, he is not guaranteed a contract next year, so a good performance could go a long way to proving he is still deserving of that second third fourth fifth chance to stick with the team.
