Gamethread 9/4: Phillies at Mets

Phillies kick off a 4-game stint in Flushing...

The Phillies are HOT — and they’ll look to carry their scorching success into this 4-game series versus their greatest rivals.

They’ve fared well against the Mets thus far in 2020, as they managed to sweep the Blue and Orange the last time they met.

This time, they’ll face off against Rick Porcello, the one-time Cy Young Award winner who’s struggled this year, posting a 6.00 ERA with a 1-4 record.

The Phillies will also send a Cy Young Award winner into this one, as Jake Arreita takes the bump — who is coming off of one of the worst starts of his career. He showed encouraging signs of a renaissance early on, but has since faltered, posting a 6.49 ERA alongside a 2-4 record.
