Kind of odd that the team isn’t giving Mickey Moniak a start today. The young center fielder has had a very good spring and with the injury to Adam Haseley, it seems that his hot hitting would at least deserve some starts against better pitching (whether you consider Pittsburgh to be “good pitching” is beside the point).
Still, it seems odd that Travis Jankowski is still getting run in a competition he was never in. Does this signal that Moniak isn’t in the competition either? Could be, but still, it would be nice to see him get some at bats against another team’s top pitcher rather than its minor league dreck.
Here is the Phillies lineup for the day.

Kingery and Herrera are going to start to see a lot of time as the team makes its decision for opening day. Herrera is probably the lead horse, but it’s still wide open.
Here, it says that they are on the radio today, but on their website, it mentions that they are on MLB Network as well. We’ll see!
