'Twas the Night Before Opening Day

'Twas the night before Opening Day, when all through the Bank,

All of the security guards are preparing, for all the beers that will be drank.

The banners were hung from the flagpoles with care,

In hopes that the Phillie Phanatic soon would be there.

The players were nestled, all snug in their beds,

While visions of a parade on Broad Street danced through their heads.

The grass has been cut, and the dirt has seen the drag,

The baselines shining bright, in addition to all the bags.

The fans will be back, well, at least around a quarter,

That is set to increase to half soon with the Governors new order.

The lineup is loaded, and the rotation is steady,

Let's just hope that this year the bullpen is ready.

The Face of The Franchise is clearly Bryce Harper,

And with his back injury in the past his swing will be much sharper.

The Best Catcher in Baseball decided to stay here in Philly,

Because leaving to go somewhere else would have been rather silly

Didi joined the party and decided to keep calling Philly home,

He'll remain at shortstop next to emerging star Alec Bohm.

Andrew McCutchen will be back in Left, or maybe it'll be Uncle Larry,

I have no idea who the hell is in Center, which in reality is quite scary.

The other side of the infield has Hoskins and Jimmy Cigs,

Rounding up a lineup that'll be among the best in the biggs.

We'll see Nola and Wheeler and Eflin and more,

With help from Chase Anderson, Spencer Howard, and Matt Moore.

The bullpen hasn't earned a spot, but we'll give the benefit of the doubt,

With new additions like Bradley and Alvarado there's more hope for getting that last out.

Just don't be historically bad, just keep us in the game,

Because if not then this season will be more of the same.

I want everyone to sit back and reflect on this last year,

And thank all of the Baseball Gods that a return to normalcy is almost here.

So when you walk in to that stadium, just remember that we are blessed,

Until that first pitch is thrown tomorrow and we return to being stressed.

Thank you all for reading, I appreciate you being here,

I wish you all a happy and healthy season,

And we'll see you next year

Thank you for your time.
