Gamethread 4/12: Phillies at Mets

Hopefully this rain doesn’t elbow its way into the conversation

MLB: New York Mets at Philadelphia Phillies Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

UPDATE:UPDATE: Game is postponed. Doubleheader tomorrow.

Fresh off dominating the headlines of the game thanks to a controversial ending to a game, the Phillies take on the Mets in New York, who also had a controversial ending to a game last week! Fun!

The Mets are struggling in their own right, getting off to a 2-3 and have several of their starters not hitting the ball at all. From this series preview provided by the horse, you can see that Michael Conforto must still be feeling the effects of taking that ball off of his elbow, the one that was career threatening. They’ll miss Marcus Stroman this series since his manager let him throw a handful of pitches yesterday even with the rain impending that would threaten their game against Miami.

Now we just have to hope that that same rain holds off enough for the two teams to get their game in tonight. Here are your lineups.

For the Phillies:

Chase Anderson goes to the bump for the Phillies, hoping to end a streak of subpar to bad starts by the rotation. Adam Haseley sits again against a left handed pitcher, continuing the mystifying rostering of Roman Quinn.

For the Mets:

Speaking of Peterson, let’s hope the team can jump on him early once again.

Let’s talk about it!
