With a day off yesterday due to rain, the Phillies open a four-game series against the Mets with a double header starting this afternoon.
The Mets are still struggling to find their footing this season and have only played five games due to the postponement of their first series against the Nationals due to COVID and two rainouts. Regardless, they’re still in third place in the NL East, just two games back of the division-leading Phillies.
In the first series this season between these two long-time rivals, the Phillies took two out of three games including a bullpen-blown deGrom start and an 8-2 blowout that featured the first home runs of the season from Hoskins, Bohm and Realmuto.
Chase Anderson will get his second start of the season in game 1, and Aaron Nola will look to bounce back from his less-than-ideal start against the Mets last series in game 2. They will face off against Taijuan Walker in the first game and Marcus Stroman, who has the Mets’ only legitimate win so far of the season, in the second.
Spencer Howard has been added as the 27th man for the double header.
