Bailey Falter has now racked up 19 strikeouts (to 5 walks) in 13.2 innings this season. Damon Jones meanwhile (now a reliever) hasn’t given up a run in 4 appearances and has struck out 8 in 5.2 innings of work. The IronPigs came back and won the game via a 5-run outburst in the 7th. They tagged former Phillies prospect Sam McWilliams for the loss (who appears to be a reliever now). Speaking of former Phillies, Franklyn Kilome started the game and went 5 innings of 2 run ball before exiting for McWilliams. In his last 5 games, Cornelius Randolph is slashing .368/.368/.579 with a homer and 5 strikeouts.

Arquimedes Gamboa - 0 for 4, BB, 2 K

A big old snoozefest here even with Reading outhitting Akron 7-4 they still lose. Eastman picks up his second loss. On the brightside, 24 year old catcher Nick Matera is off to a blazing start. He is slashing .292/.414/.667 with 3 homers in 24 at-bats and 5 walks to 6 strikeouts.

Logan O’Hoppe - 2 for 4, R, 2B

Jonathan Guzman - 0 for 4, 2 K (fielding error)

Excellent start by Aussie Josh Hendrickson who has yet to give up a run in 11 innings and has 17 strikeouts to just 1 walk. Jonathan Hughes picked up second victory of the season. After going hitless in his first two games of the season, Bryson Stott is slashing .294/.455/.676 with 4 homers and 10 walks to 14 strikeouts in 34 at-bats. Obviously the strikeouts are concerning, but he is hitting the ball and showing off some power.

Clearwater battles back by tying the game at 4 in the bottom of the 8th and winning with a walk-off in the 10th. Gutierrez delivered the game-winning single. Since his late debut to the season, Carlos De La Cruz is 7 for 20 with 2 walk to 5 strikeouts. He launched his first homer and double of the season. Matt Joyce taking in a rehab start as he moves closer to returning to the Phillies lineup. Since his six-game hitting-streak to begin the season, Luis Garcia is just 3 for his last 30 with 13 strikeouts.
