Lehigh Valley 7, Syracuse 3

Bailey Falter - 4.2 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 7 K, HR, 4 GB, 3 FB
Damon Jones - 1 IP, 2 H, 0 R, K
Travis Jankowski - 2 for 3, R, 2B

Austin Listi - 1 for 3, R, 2 RBI, BB, HBP
Cornelius Randolph - 2 for 4, K (outfield assist, 3B)
Edgar Cabral - 1 for 2, 2 RBI, BB, HBP

Bailey Falter has now racked up 19 strikeouts (to 5 walks) in 13.2 innings this season. Damon Jones meanwhile (now a reliever) hasn’t given up a run in 4 appearances and has struck out 8 in 5.2 innings of work. The IronPigs came back and won the game via a 5-run outburst in the 7th. They tagged former Phillies prospect Sam McWilliams for the loss (who appears to be a reliever now). Speaking of former Phillies, Franklyn Kilome started the game and went 5 innings of 2 run ball before exiting for McWilliams. In his last 5 games, Cornelius Randolph is slashing .368/.368/.579 with a homer and 5 strikeouts.

Akron 3, Reading 1

James McArthur - 4 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, 3 K, WP, 5 GB, 3 FB
Colton Eastman - 3 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 3 K, 5 GB, 1 FB
Arquimedes Gamboa - 0 for 4, BB, 2 K
Nick Matera - 1 for 3, HR, BB
Josh Stephen - 1 for 4, K, CS

A big old snoozefest here even with Reading outhitting Akron 7-4 they still lose. Eastman picks up his second loss. On the brightside, 24 year old catcher Nick Matera is off to a blazing start. He is slashing .292/.414/.667 with 3 homers in 24 at-bats and 5 walks to 6 strikeouts.

Jersey Shore 5, Winston-Salem 0

Josh Hendrickson - 4 IP, 1 H, 0 R, BB, 7 K, 2 GB, 0 FB
Jonathan Hughes - 3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 3 K, 4 GB, 3 FB (pickoff error)
Hunter Markwardt - 1 for 4
Bryson Stott - 2 for 4, 2 R, HR, 2 RBI, K
Logan O’Hoppe - 2 for 4, R, 2B
Jhailyn Ortiz - 1 for 3, R, 2B, RBI, BB, 2 K
Jonathan Guzman - 0 for 4, 2 K (fielding error)

Excellent start by Aussie Josh Hendrickson who has yet to give up a run in 11 innings and has 17 strikeouts to just 1 walk. Jonathan Hughes picked up second victory of the season. After going hitless in his first two games of the season, Bryson Stott is slashing .294/.455/.676 with 4 homers and 10 walks to 14 strikeouts in 34 at-bats. Obviously the strikeouts are concerning, but he is hitting the ball and showing off some power.

Clearwater 5, Dunedin 4 (F/10)

Eduar Segovia - 3.1 IP, 3 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 6 K, 0 GB, 2 FB
Victor Vargas - 3 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, 2 K, HBP, 3 GB, 2 FB

Baron Radcliff - 0 for 3, BB, 2 K
Rixon Wingrove - 1 for 4, RBI, 2 K
Carlos De La Cruz - 2 for 4, 2B, HR, K

Clearwater battles back by tying the game at 4 in the bottom of the 8th and winning with a walk-off in the 10th. Gutierrez delivered the game-winning single. Since his late debut to the season, Carlos De La Cruz is 7 for 20 with 2 walk to 5 strikeouts. He launched his first homer and double of the season. Matt Joyce taking in a rehab start as he moves closer to returning to the Phillies lineup. Since his six-game hitting-streak to begin the season, Luis Garcia is just 3 for his last 30 with 13 strikeouts.
