Another interleague weekend bender

MLB: Philadelphia Phillies at New York Yankees Jonathan Dyer-USA TODAY Sports

Another off day on Friday means that today, the Phillies and Yankees begin an interleague series in Philadelphia. It would be nice if the Phillies could win a game without needing heroics in the bottom of the ninth inning for once, but hey, wins are wins. They’ll get a chance to take the first one from the Yankees here today with Vince Velasquez on the mound. Here are the lineups. For the Phillies:

About as regular a lineup as they have trotted out this season. Ronald Torreyes has been quite good in the absence of Didi Gregorius and with the latter’s return imminent, this might be one of his final starts.

For the Yankees:

Jameson Taillon goes for the Yankees. His surface numbers aren’t great, but he’s on a run of decent starts in his last three. He’ll be backed by a Giancarlo Stanton-less lineup which still looks lethal on paper.

Let’s talk about it.
