Gamethread 6/13: Yankees at Phillies

Can the Phillies win a game before the last inning of play?

MLB: New York Yankees at Philadelphia Phillies Kyle Ross-USA TODAY Sports

After another cardiac comeback yesterday, the Phillies go for the sweep against the Bronx Bombers. It would be much preferred if the team would simply win the game prior to the last inning, but wins are wins I guess. Here are the lineups. For the Phillies:

The Phillies will send Aaron Nola to the mound, hoping he can snap out of the malaise he’s been in lately. The team will need him to if they want to get above .500 for the first time since May 19.

For the Yankees:

The Yankees are without two of their power sticks in the lineup today, sitting both Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton. They’ll also send Domingo German to the mound. German has been good for New York this year, giving the team a second solid starter behind Gerrit Cole and helping them stay in the division race for this long.

Let’s talk about it.
