Lehigh Valley 8, Worcester 2

Ramon Rosso - 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 K, 5 GB, 1 FB
Ethan Evanko - 3 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 2 K, 2 GB, 3 FB
Scott Kingery - 1 for 4, R, 2B, RBI, BB, 2 K
Adam Haseley - 2 for 5, 2 R, HR, 4 RBI
Matt Vierling - 2 for 4, R, BB
Mickey Moniak - 2 for 4, 2B, HR, 3 RBI, K, HBP
Rafael Marchan - 1 for 5, R, 2 K

Hopefully this is the start of hittin’ season for the IronPigs with this loaded lineup (for AAA, anyway). Haseley launched his 1st dinger of the season and Moniak added his 7th. Matt Vierling now with 4 hits in 8 at-bats in his first two game with LHV. Rosso and Evanko 6 shutout innings were enough to hold back the dangerous Worcester lineup. JD Hammer gave up the two runs in the bottom of the 8th inning.

Harrisburg 7, Reading 2

Francisco Morales - 3.2 IP, 5 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 4 BB, 4 K, HR, WP, HBP, 2 GB, 4 FB
Daniel Brito - 1 for 4, K
Bryson Stott - 0 for 4, 2 K
Jorge Bonifacio - 0 for 3, BB, K
Rodolfo Duran - 1 for 4, 2B, K
Arquimedes Gamboa - 0 for 3, BB

Woof...it continues to get worse for Morales as the season goes on. He is 0-6 with a 13.50 ERA in 22 innings. It is certainly concerning, but after a year layoff and pitching as a 21 year old in AA is going to be a monumental jump for some. Clearly the talent is there (33 strikeouts) as his fastball/slider combo is absolutely one of the Phillies farm’s best assets, I hope the org is doing all they can to right this ship. Anyway, Stott saw his average drop to .245 in reading. The Fightin’s lone runs came via solo dingers from Josh Stephen (1) and Dalton Guthrie (3).

Jersey Shore 6, Hudson Valley 4

Dominic Pipkin - 4 IP, 3 H, 3 R, 3 ER, BB, 7 K, HBP, 1 GB, 4 FB
Hunter Markwardt - 2 for 4, 2 R, 2B, BB, 2 K, 2 SB
Logan O’Hoppe - 1 for 4, 2 R, BB, K, SB
Vito Friscia - 1 for 3, 2 BB, 2 K
DJ Stewart - 1 for 4, 2 RBI, K, SB
Jonathan Guzman - 1 for 5, 2B, RBI, 3 K

The BlueClaws broke a 4-4 tie game with a run in the 6th via a wild pitch. They would add another insurance run in the 9th from an RBI double from Guzman. Scary moment in the game when Jhailyn Ortiz took a wild pitch to the head/helmet. He left the game and I haven’t seen any updates since.

Dunedin 6, Clearwater 3

Victor Vargas - 5 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, BB, 7 K, HR, 2 GB, 2 FB
Eduar Segovia - 1.2 IP, 3 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 3 BB, 2 K, HR, 1 GB, 1 FB
Yhoswar Garcia - 2 for 4, R, RBI
Luis Garcia - 1 for 4, CS
Johan Rojas - 1 for 4, 2B, 2 K
Rixon Wingrove - 3 for 4, HR, 2 RBI, SB
Casey Martin - 0 for 4, 2 K
Baron Radcliff - 1 for 3, R, 2B, BB, K
Juan Aparicio - 1 for 4, 2 K
Kendall Simmons - 0 for 1
Nicolas Torres - 0 for 3, 2 K
Carlos De La Cruz - 0 for 3, BB, K

Victor Vargas was once again excellent. The 20 year old has a 3.62 ERA with 33 strikeouts to 7 walks in 27.1 innings this season. Segovia came on in relief and earned his 2nd loss and 2nd “blown save” of the season. Rixon Wingrove’s bat seems to be coming alive, he hit his 3rd HR of the season and is slashing .289/.353/.489 in his last 45 at-bats. Yhoswar Garcia had his second consecutive mulit-hit game and has hits in 5 of his 6 first professional games. Kendall Simmons apparently took a pop fly to the head and had to exit the game.
