Scranton/WB 10, Lehigh Valley 2

Cristopher Sanchez - 1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, BB
Julian Garcia - 4 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 3 K, WP, 2 HBP, 5 GB, 3 FB
Didi Gregorius - 2 for 2, R, 2B, RBI, BB
Scott Kingery - 0 for 3, BB, SB
Austin Listi - 2 for 4, R, K

An farm system that has been obliterated by injuries may have to add another after Sanchez leaves the game after one inning. Julian Garcia was ill-prepared and was lit up accordingly. Recently promoted Zack Warren and Jakob Hernanez gave up 3 and 4 earned runs in relief as well, respectively. Austin Listi on top of having two hits in the game, also pitched an inning of scoreless relief after the IronPigs ran out of available pitchers. A lone bright note was that Didi Gregorius was back for another rehab stint and hopefully won’t see any new setbacks so he can join the Phillies ASAP.

Reading 9, Binghamton 8 (F/11)

Jack Perkins - 4 IP, 9 H, 6 R, 6 ER, 6 K, 2 HR, 2 HBP, 3 GB, 1 FB
Daniel Brito - 2 for 4, R, 2B, 2 BB
Bryson Stott - 1 for 5, 3 R, RBI, BB, K
Madison Stokes - 2 for 6, 2 R, 2B, HR, 2 K
McCarthy Tatum - 1 for 4, R, 2B, K
Josh Stephen - 2 for 4, 3 RBI, BB, K
Arquimedes Gamboa - 0 for 5, 2 K
Jack Conley - 2 for 4, 2 R, 3B, HR, BB, K

After two excellent starts for Perkins since being promoted to Reading, he throws up a stinker. Regardless, the Fightin’s offense stormed back and eventually tied the game in the 8th via a Bryson Stott RBI single to force extras. Josh Stephen delivered the walk-off single in the 11th to win the game. Madison Stokes and Jack Conley added their 4th and 1st homers of the season. Daniel Brito has been riding quite the hot streak at the plate. In June he is slashing .318/.341/.435 in 85 at-bats.

Jersey Shore 3, Brooklyn 0

Kevin Gowdy - 6 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 5 K, 7 GB, 4 FB
Corbin Williams - 1 for 4, RBI, BB, K
Casey Martin - 0 for 5, RBI, 2 K
Jhailyn Ortiz - 0 for 2, K, HBP
Vito Friscia - 1 for 3, 3B, RBI, BB
DJ Stewart - 0 for 4, K
Jonathan Guzman - 1 for 3, BB, 2 K, CS

Sometimes you need to be patient with prospects. Especially ones like Gowdy who dealt with Tommy John surgery not shortly after he was drafted back in 2016. The now 23 year old is enjoying success at High-A ball with a 3.58 ERA and 37 strikeouts to 8 walks in 37.2 IP. The BlueClaws 3-run 5th inning was all the offense they would need. DJ Stewart saw his 13 game on-base streak and 6 game hitting-streak with JS come to an end.

Daytona 6, Clearwater 1

Rafael Marcano - 1.1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 R, 2 BB, 3 K, HR, 2 GB, 0 FB
Hsin-Chieh Lin - 2.1 IP, 2 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 4 K, HR, WP, 1 GB, 0 FB
Yhoswar Garcia - 0 for 4, 2 K (outfield assist, home)
Johan Rojas - 1 for 3, 3B
Kendall Simmons - 2 for 3, HR
Rixon Wingrove - 0 for 3, K
Micah Yonamine - 0 for 1, 2 BB
Luis Garcia - 0 for 2, BB (two fielding errors)
Juan Aparicio - 0 for 3
Nicolas Torres - 0 for 3
Jose Tortolero - 0 for 2, BB, K

The Threshers pitching and hitting certainly did not have it yesterday. This was supposed to be the first game of a doubleheader, but the second was rained out. They’ll try another DH today. Kendall Simmons was the lone bright spot with his 1st HR of the season.
