Worcester 7, Lehigh Valley 4

Mark Appel - 5 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 2 HR, 6 GB, 4 FB
Sean Coonrod - 1 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 3 K, HR
Odubel Herrera - 1 for 4, HR, BB, K, SB
Rafael Marchan - 1 for 5, RBI
Dalton Guthrie - 1 for 4, R, 2B, SB (throwing error)
Mickey Moniak - 1 for 4, R, K
Matt Vierling - 1 for 4, RBI, K

Herrera and Coonrod on rehab assignment with mixed results in this one. The latter could be a real shot to the arm for the big club when he returns. Mark Appel is falling back to earth. Dalton Guthrie extended his hitting streak to 9 games.

Reading 7, New Hampshire 6

Josh Hendrickson - 5 IP, 7 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 4 K, 5 GB, 5 FB
Daniel Brito - 1 for 5, K
Arquimedes Gamboa - 2 for 5, R, RBI, SB
Bryson Stott - 3 for 5, 2 R, 2 2B, HR, K
Jorge Bonifacio - 0 for 4, K
Madison Stokes - 1 for 4, 2B, RBI
Rodolfo Duran - 0 for 4, K
Josh Stephen - 1 for 1, 3 R, HR, 3 BB

Josh Hendrickson was far from perfect, but didn’t have to be. Though, Kyle Dohy nearly blew it in the bottom of the 9th when he gave up 2 runs to bring the game within 1-run. Bryson Stott went off after a very slow month at the plate for the top hitting prospect. It was his 5th HR and 9th/10th doubles so far with AA.

Winston-Salem 10, Jersey Shore 4

Jhordany Mezquita - 4 IP, 5 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 2 BB, 6 K, HR, 2 GB, 2 FB
Logan O’Hoppe - 1 for 3, 2 BB, K
DJ Stewart - 1 for 4, RBI, BB, K
Jhailyn Ortiz - 2 for 5, HR, 3 K
Casey Martin - 0 for 5, 3 K

Mezquita, Mark Potter and Erubiel Armenta combined to give up 9 earned runs in this one. Jhailyn Ortiz mashed his 13th HR to go with his hattrick of strikeouts.

Tampa 6, Clearwater 5 (F/10)

Mick Abel - 3.1 IP, 3 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 5 BB, 3 K, HBP, 5 GB, 0 FB
Samuel Aldegheri - 3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 6 K, 2 WP, 2 GB, 0 FB
Luis Garcia - 0 for 2, R, 4 BB, K
Jadiel Sanchez - 1 for 5, R, 3B, 2 RBI, BB
Nicolas Torres - 1 for 2, R, RBI, 3 BB
Rixon Wingrove - 2 for 5, 2B, RBI, K
Abrahan Gutierrez - 0 for 3, 2 BB, 2 K (passed ball)
Baron Radcliff - 0 for 5, R, 4 K
Ben Pelletier - 1 for 4, BB, 2 K, CS
Micah Yonamine - 1 for 2, R, 2 BB
Edgar Made - 1 for 5 (throwing error)

Good news is Mick Abel was able to make this start (he was pulled in the last one for an injury concern). Bad news he wasn’t very effective. The Thresher offense impressively had more walks (13) than they did hits (7) or strikeouts (10). They actually went up by a run in the top of the 10th when a wild pitch allowed a run to score. Sadly, Leonel Aponte gave up two runs in the bottom of the inning to take the loss.
