David Parkinson picks up his 7th loss of the season. He has been not good. In other news, COVID ground zero patient Alec Bohm took in a rehab start. Daniel Brito and Jorge Bonifacio make their first AAA starts of the season after being promoted from AA yesterday. Brito continues his torrid power surge with his 1st homer (7th overall). He is becoming VERY interesting all of the sudden.

Perkins was excellent, but saw the bullpen give up a run in the 8th and four runs in the bottom of the 9th in a game they were leading 6-2. Perkins is a 23 year old RHP with a 3.56 ERA in 43 IP with Reading this season and 35 strikeouts to 10 walks. Meanwhile, Arquimedes Gamboa has been red hot in July slashing .361/.443/.574 with 3 homers.

Dominic Pipkin with a so-so start, but saw his ERA fall to 4.38. This season he has 57 strikeouts to 17 walks in 51.1 innings. Reliever Tom Sutera gave up the go-ahead run in the bottom of the 8th. The offense couldn’t put it together, going 2 for 11 with RISP and leaving 7 on base.

Great seeing Erik Miller moving up in his rehab. While the game results don’t look great, he was hitting nearly 98 on the gun. I’ve always been a big fan of Miller and think we see him with the Phillies (as a starter or reliever) next season. The offense went off yet again, with a ton of walks/hits. Johan Rojas returns to the lineup after seeing out for a few games with an injury (but never hitting the IL to my knowledge).
