Gamethread 8/4: Phillies at Nationals

It’s a Chase Anderson start. Gird your loins.

Sitting only 1 12 games behind the Mets now, the Phillies are starting to make some noise. Can we trust them? That’s for you to decide, but tonight they’ll willingly send Chase Anderson to the hill.

Needing only one more victory to secure a series victory and guarantee they’ll head home above .500, the Phillies turn to Anderson to try and nail down that victory. Here are the lineups. For the Phillies:

J.T. Realmuto sits and new papa Andrew Knapp starts in his place. Didi Gregorius is back in the lineup, starting over cult hero Ronald Torreyes.

For the Nationals:

Still not sure what it’s the season for, but you do you Nationals.

Paolo Espino is on the hill Washington, part of their skeleton crew rotation. This is a game the Phillies should win.
