Luis Garcia, that’s the highlight.

Lehigh Valley 5, Syracuse 4

Mark Appel - 5.2 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 2 BB, 2 K, HR, 2 HBP, 6 GB, 5 FB
Adam Haseley - 1 for 5, 2 R, K, SB
CJ Chatham - 3 for 4, 2B, HR, 3 RBI
Mickey Moniak - 0 for 4 (throwing error)
Darick Hall - 1 for 4, R
Cornelius Randolph - 0 for 2, 2 BB
Arquimedes Gamboa - 0 for 3, BB

What a weird one this game was. In the year 2021, Mark Appel squared off against...Vance Worley. The IronPigs hitters had more walks (4) than strikeouts (1). IronPigs pitchers had more walks (6) than strikeouts (4). Fun! CJ Chatham hit his first AAA homerun, if that interests you.

Hartford 1, Reading 0

Colton Eastman - 4 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 5 K, 2 GB, 2 FB
Josh Hendrickson - 4 IP, 3 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 6 K, HR, 1 GB, 3 FB
Matt Kroon - 1 for 3, BB, K, CS
Bryson Stott - 0 for 3, BB, K
Matt Joyce - 1 for 3, 2 K
Logan O’Hoppe - 1 for 3, HBP

Reading outhit Hartford 7-3 and still lost this one. Hendrickson gave up a solo HR in the 8th that turned out to be the biggest difference. Bryson Stott saw his 4-game multi-hit game streak come to an end.

Aberdeen 4, Jersey Shore 2 (GM1 of DH, completion of 8/8 suspended game)
Jersey Shore 6, Aberdeen 2 (GM2 of DH)

Tyler McKay - 1.1 IP, 1 H, 0 R, 4 BB, K, WP, 1 GB, 0 FB
Manuel Silva - 3 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, BB, K, HBP, 2 GB, 3 FB
DJ Stewart - 2 for 7, R, BB, 2 K
Vito Friscia - 2 for 7, R, RBI, 2 BB, 2 K
Ben Pelletier - 1 for 3, 2 K
Hunter Markwardt - 3 for 7, R, 3B, HR, 2 RBI, 2 K
Nicolas Torres - 2 for 4, R, 2 RBI, K
Carlos De La Cruz - 0 for 3, K

The BlueClaws split the DH. Nothing terribly exciting to highlight here other than Nicolas Torres has been hitting the ball well since being promoted to High-A. The 21 year old is slashing .432/.468/.500 in 44 at-bats.

Clearwater 5, Lakeland 4

Cristian Hernandez - 2.2 IP, 5 H, 4 R, 3 ER, BB, 2 K, HR, 2 GB, 3 FB
Rodolfo Sanchez - 3 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 3 K, 3 GB, 2 FB
Jared Carr - 1 for 4, R, BB, 3 K
Luis Garcia - 3 for 5, 2 R, 2B, K
Ethan Wilson - 2 for 5, R, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 K
Kendall Simmons - 1 for 5, R, SB
TJ Rumfield - 1 for 3, RBI, BB (missed catch error)
Freylin Minyety - 3 for 5, 2B, K
Baron Radcliff - 1 for 5, 2B, RBI, K
Juan Aparicio - 0 for 4, 3 K
Felix Reyes - 0 for 4, K

Great hitting day for the Threshers who collect 12 hits and were 4 for 16 with RISP. Luis Garcia’s hot bat has him slashing .478/.529/.913 in 46 at-bats during his 11-game hitting streak. Certainly not sustainable, but Garcia didn’t even have these hot streaks in 2019. All positive signs for the promising SS.
