Well now. It seems the floodgates have opened up a bit.
We all kind of knew that once Shohei Ohtani signed, a lot of free agents were going to be signing since teams knew they wouldn’t have spend massive amounts of money. We figured that the stars would sign, but what we’ve seen instead is a lot more mid-tier free agents find their homes before Christmas.
Makes sense. Players would like to enjoy their holidays knowing where they will be working next season, so a lot of players came off the board in the past few days. They include:
- The Royals nabbing Michael Wacha on a two-year deal
- Kansas City also putting Hunter Renfroe in their outfield
- Jack Flaherty getting real money from the Tigers
It’s an active time of the year apparently. Enjoy your weekend!
